Jason Hayes is a software QA engineer currently living and working in Santa Clara, California. His extensive 15-year career as a software instructor and software engineer with Apple has seen him work on a diverse range of high-profile projects that are used today by millions of users around the world.

Jason was deeply involved in the test planning for Apple’s photography software and he performed extensive testing during the creation of the Photos applications that now ship with Macs and iOS devices. Jason also made significant contributions to the UI of the iWork application suite, specifically regarding new functionality related to the Apple Pencil. In all cases, Jason’s creative approach, and ad-hoc exploratory testing uncovered critical issues or led to suggestions on UI improvements that were integrated into the final product.

A highly creative person, Jason is a passionate photographer in his personal life, and it is perhaps this keen eye for detail and mindset that allows him to notice when something in an application isn’t quite right, or has room to be improved upon. His constant focus on the end user experience is evident in his desire to improve the usability of all the applications he works on. He has also been developing himself as an automation engineer, primarily working with the Python programming language, to automate routine testing tasks that he and his team are responsible for.

Solution-focused, Jason thrives in fast-paced work environments and has been a valued contributor in the teams he has worked in, always diving into new roles and responsibilities with enthusiasm and positivity. He is now seeking new challenges that will leverage his wealth of experience and creative abilities to build on and progress his career.
